NYX Haul!

So, a while since my last post...I wont bore you with the details and excuses but the last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy!

Anyways...

I was on the hunt for a few NYX items, as I’d heard some amazing things about them, and I already owned the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (the best inner corner/brow highlight I’ve ever used!)

So I picked up the following bits and bobs:

Mood Lip Gloss

Sheer Tube Lipglosses (L-R Barely There, Fabulous and Vintage)

Sheer Tube Lipgloss: Barely There

Sheer Tube Lipgloss: Fabulous

Sheer Tube Lipgloss: Vintage

Round Lipstick Selection (L-R Gem, Indian Pink, Thalia)

Round Lipstick: Gem

Round Lipstick: Indian Pink

Round Lipstick: Thalia

Auto Lip Pencil: Natural (I really wish I'd picked up more than one of these!!)

Eye/Eyebrow Pencil: Purple

Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil: Pots and Pans

Loose Powder Ultra Pearl (Clockwise from Top Mocha Pearl, Yellow Gold Pearl, Nude Pearl, Black Pearl)

Loose Powder Ultra Pearl: Mocha Pearl

Loose Powder Ultra Pearl: Yellow Gold Pearl

Loose Powder Ultra Pearl: Nude Pearl

Loose Powder Ultra Pearl: Black Pearl

Jumbo Glitter Eye Pencils (L-R Candlelight, Silver, Pale Shrimp and Jaipur)

The website I ordered from is called Cocktail Cosmetics (Links - Website and Facebook Page) Highly recommend this website!! I found a free shipping code so I got quite click happy and ordered my bits, and got free P&P.
A couple of days later, I decided to order again, using my free shipping code. When my willpower goes, it really goes! I hadn’t seen on the Facebook page, but the lovely owner had her birthday, so to celebrate, was giving a FREE Estee Lauder lipgloss to all those that ordered on the day. This was a lovely surprise, I thought she’d made a mistake and was prepared to return it back to her. What a good citizen I am!

Free Estee Lauder Lipgloss :)

The P&P itself was fantastic…my first order arrived the day after I ordered (even though I placed my order at about 1.30-2pm) and my second arrived 2 days after my order. (I placed the order about 5pm-ish.) Even when there’s not a code for free shipping, the current UK shipping rate is £3.25 which I think is highly reasonable. And your order arrives nice and snug, in a box like the one below :)

Highly recommend this website!
Stay tuned for some reviews of the NYX items I’ve ordered as I’ve been using them every day since I ordered

Blog Update Description

Bonjourno!

When I had the initial concept of starting a blog, I figured I’d make it a beauty blog…reviews etc of products I own, purchase and lust after. But then I realised that I don’t make enough money to keep buying enough make-up that I can review for you…so that was never going to work. You’d get an ourburst of posts just after payday, and then nothing for the rest of the month!

So…whilst the blog’s primary focus is going to be beauty/make-up related…if I think of something worth writing about (you might not necessarily agree with me J) then I’ll fire it in here for you all to peruse and hopefully enjoy!

Once I have a few more posts, and a few more followers/subscribers…if you spot a particular type of post that I do that you want to see more/less of then please let me know so I can keep you guys happy!

"Weight Loss" Dresses

As promised, I’ve dug out some pics of my “weight loss” dresses that I mention in my last post.

The first one is just such a gorgeous colour! I love coral, it’s so summery and bright and such a happy colour! I got this from New Look, where it’s still on sale for £9.99. Well worth it if you ask me!

And the second one, I spotted on the Dorothy Perkins website, I wasn’t sure if it was hideously ugly, or stunningly gorgeous. I either loved it or hated it, either way I needed to buy it! So I did, and I absolutely adore it now. Even more so because it’s a size 12 (and not a very forgiving one!!) and it fits me J I think I got this in a sale, for around £8 a couple of months ago?

I freakin' love dresses!! Does anyone know of any cute dresses in store for summer?

Weight Loss Shenanigans :D

I needed to blog about this - I'm too excited!!

I've basically been on a diet/health kick since mid February.

I used to be a size 10 (not that I can really remember those days, but I do have some clothes to prove it!) a few years ago. Then I got an office job, got myself into a relationship and 3 years on, I was a size 18!

I decided this needed to change for my 21st birthday so I took up my little health kick.

My diet looks like:

Breakfast - 300cals (normally Special K with semi skimmed, or some porridge)

Snack - 100cals

Lunch - 200cals (Weight Watchers soup and some cracker breads, or cous cous, salad etc)

Snack - 100cals

Dinner - 400cals (varies greatly, but always with a huge portion of steamed veg

Snack - 100cals (maybe a cheeky Weight Watchers choccie biccie)

I also drink about 2.5l of water every day, and I run 3 times a week. I'm building up to a 10k in October :)

And in 8 weeks, I've lost 19lbs (1 stone, 5lbs and I'm ecstatic!!!)

I've bought a couple of dresses in sizes 10 and 12...I'll post some pics later, to slim into for summer and they already fit me! I tried one on earlier, when I bought it, it wouldn't come past my muffin top, let alone zip up! Now it fits perfectly. I couldn't be happier!

I want to lose another 10lbs before the end of May, and then another stone by the end of July and then I feel like I'll be at a much healthier weight. Size 10 here I come!

Is anyone else dieting for summer? Any hints or tips you can give me?

  • Leave my a comment on this post letting me know which of the two colours you'd like to receive
  • Give me one piece of feedback about my blog. Perhaps you have a blog yourself and have some tips on how I can turn this into a must-read? Or you just have some insightful hints and tips on what kinds of posts I could do? etc

  • Unfortunately, I'm only going to have this open to residents of the UK so that I can post easily.

The giveaway will open as soon as this post is up, and I'll close it on Friday 13th May at midday. My favourite 2 pieces of advice/feedback who want the two different polishes will win.

Nails Inc Love Affair

Let's just get the obvious point out of the way, I LOVE Nails Inc!

I only started collecting their polishes late last year, so my collection is pretty minimal. But I've never seen another formula like them!

My nails are really oily so when I paint my nails, the polish lifts off almost straight away :( Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent this? (It really bugs me!) But I notice this a heck of a lot less with Nails Inc.

Nails Inc have a very creamy formula that applies well, the brush is a good size, I can't stand the really little ones that make your nail polish apply really streakily because you have to apply it in about 10 strokes!! And the colour range is fab.

Polishes can be found at www.nailsinc.com and most of the polishes retail for around £11. I know this is a little pricey, so I'd highly recommend getting one of their gorgeous collections so you can try a few out for a lower individual price. I'm really lusting after the Rainbow Collection :)

Or...they do have these pick and mix sales every now and again where you pay £10 + £3.95 shipping, and you get 4 colours chosen at random, plus a base or top coat. Amazing value! If you subscribe to their mailing list, you'll receive an email on the day they're going to do the sale. (The sales usually only last one day)

Enough rambling...here are some piccies of my little collection :)

In the first photo, starting from the black near the top, we have....

1. London Nights (a gorgeous black shade)
2. Hans Road (a pearlescent pink/coral shade)
3. Parsons Green (a lovely pearlescent light pink shade)
4. Warwick Avenue - haha reminds me of the Duffy song!! (stunning baby pink colour, looks lovely and natural on the nail)
5. Hampstead Heath (I'm not sure how to describe this shade? It's like a wine red?)
6. Jermyn Street (favourite Nails Inc colour of all time!! Stunning greige colour)
7. Chesham Street (gorgeous dark blue based colour, with purple and green shots through it, changes colour as the light hits it - love!)
8. Saville Row (Lovely muted purple colour)
9. Elizabeth St Caviar (haven't worn this one yet, but looks a tad lighter and more white-based version of Warwick Avenue)
10. Chelsea Bridge UV Topcoat (lovely topcoat to keep your nails gorgeous for longer)

Hope you guys check this fab brand out if you haven't already :)
